Meet That Special Someone on a Sunday Morning Stroll
Walking is very popular at the moment and a great way to meet likeminded people in a relaxed, carefree and romantic atmosphere.
The walks will be approximately 6 to 8 miles in length around Derby, The Peak District, Staffordshire Moorlands, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, and none will be too strenuous. Strolls will be classed as either 1=Easy, 2=Moderate, some up hill or down hill walking, 3=Hard some steeper hills and rougher terrain.
Although we shall end most walks at a public house where you can get something to eat and drink I would suggest you bring a packed lunch.
We shall meet outside The Bulls Head Pub in Youlgrave. Make your way to The Bulls Head having parked your car at the far end of the village.
Please remember these walks are in the countryside and stout sturdy footwear is a must, some of the footpaths can be muddy and slippery after rain, also a waterproof coat is a good idea as the weather is very fickle at any time of the year. Dogs MUST be kept on a lead AT ALL TIMES, as we may pass through livestock along the walk.
The second of these walks which is a distance of 7 miles is considered to a moderate level walk. Included are 2 steep climbs, one downhill climb with steep steps and one uphill climb. This is a river walk with a picturesque waterfall and clear waters famous for trout fishing.
Not to be missed on this walk lie the remains of the Mandale lead mine. You can see the pillars and the line of the aqueduct as well as the ruins of the engine house and sealed off abandoned shafts

Venue Description:
The Bulls Head Hotel Youlgrave is a homely village pub that dates back to the 17th century and retains many of the original features. The Hotel is situated in Fountain Square in the picturesque village of Youlgrave in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District.
The Bulls Head situated in the long, narrow village of Youlgrave lies between two beautiful dales with their respective rivers, the Lathkill and the Bradford. Youlgrave is in some of the finest scenery in the Peak District
From the A6 between Bakewell and Rowsley follow the B5056 passing through Alport until you reach Youlgrave.
The main carpark for the town is at the far western end of Youlgrave. It is suggested that parking is made here for this walk.
