How our Dating System Works

You surf the "When the Music Stops" site to learn all about the various types of events available. See our Encounters page for a list of all cities/towns with events.

Choose the sort of event you would like to take part in, a Dinner Party or a Speed Dating evening.

You register for an event through our Website, or by phone on 0845 2303199 (to ensure equal numbers of men and women, you MUST pre-register, there are no registrations at the actual event!).

At some events we use a match sheet, so you show up EARLY for the event to register, get your name tag, match sheet, question sheet (a set of ice breakers to ensure the conversation keeps flowing) and an explanation as to what to expect on the night.

On your Match Sheet, you decide who you'd like to know better - whether it is as a Match or on a Friendship basis initially.

At our Dinner Parties there is no formality or documentation whatsoever, you can just chat away to your hearts content as you meet other like minded singles around the table.

Typically you will meet between 12 and 30 other singles in less than 3 hours during a series of 5 - 6 minute short meetings (longer during our Dinner Parties). We facilitate the whole thing so you are guaranteed to meet most people there in a safe and fun way. To maximise your experience, we usually hold events in private or semi-private areas at an upmarket venue, during the evening you have the chance to rate the people that you have met as either a friend or a match - and they do the same. At the end of the event, everyone turns in their completed Match Sheets to the Event Coordinator.

In 48 hours or less, you'll get an email or text message with the results of your matches. Chances are you'll have one or more matches (more than two-thirds of speed-daters match at least one person).

After that it's up to you - Now that you've attended an event, your chances of making a more lasting connection is greatly increased.
